Update on missing WA and OR teens

Oregon teen found safe

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office has located missing runaway Samantha Dodson. She is reportedly in good condition.

She was located shortly after 4 p.m. in a wooded area just outside of Oregon City on Dec. 7. Kelsey McCune was also located and taken into custody. Both were together when contacted, and taken into custody without incident.

Kelsey McCune was taken into custody on a warrant. Detectives are currently interviewing Mr. McCune.

A tip from a citizen, who spotted two people matching the description on a flyer, led deputies to the location. The citizen reported seeing Dodson and McCune in a wooded park area at the north end of the Country Village Mobile Home Park.

Containment was set up, and the area was searched by the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team. The SWAT Team was used due to the size of the area to search and need to quickly cover the area.

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank all the citizens who called in with tips and to the media for getting the story out quickly and accurately.

Sheriff’s Office detectives would also like to thank the FBI and Clackamas County Major Crimes Team for their help on this complex investigation.

Update on missing teen Elizabeth Romero

An AMBER Alert remains active for missing Washington state teen, Elizabeth Romero, age 14, who was last seen leaving her school during lunch time in a dark green, older model Ford Escape driven by her former boyfriend, Edwardo Flores Rosales, 19, on Dec. 4.

Romero’s disappearance is believed to be an abduction. According to KEPR, Romero left from school during lunch time with Rosales but is believed to be held against her will. Police learned that Rosales was someone Romero had met on Facebook, and investigators are still going through correspondence. Rosales had also recently moved to the area from Oregon, according to his family, started a new job and paid a month in advance to rent a room across the street from Romero’s home, which police on the case refer to as ‘grooming’ – preparing for an abduction.

The FBI Violent Crimes Task Force are involved in the case as it is believed Romero was being taken to Mexico.

The public is urged to contact 911 immediately with any information.
