Sunday October 27, 2013, at 5:08 p.m., Portland Police officers responded to the report of a sexual assault in the area of the 8400 block of Southeast 87th Avenue and that the suspect fled the area.
Officers and medical personnel arrived and contacted the victim, a 14-year-old girl, and her family at their residence nearby. Officers learned that the victim was walking home when the suspect grabbed her and pulled her into the side yard of a home and sexually assaults her. The suspect let the victim go and she ran home and told her parents.
The victim’s father went looking for the suspect and located a man matching his description at Southeast 90th Avenue and Flavel Street. The victim positively identified the man as the suspect, later identified as 21-year-old Sawsulien Bohannan.
Bohannan was taken to the Detective Division and will be booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Rape in the First Degree, Sex Abuse in the First Degree and Unlawful Sexual Penetration in the First Degree. His booking photo will be available at http://www.mcso.us after he is lodged into jail.
Bohannan was arraigned on Monday in Multnomah County Court.
